Hurd window mechanism from 1997 window.

Question

Good afternoon, I would like to replace some of my worn out Hurd Window crank mechanisms.  Could you advise what I should order to replace them.  Also, will I be able to use the existing handle and cover with the new mechanism?  Thank you!

Thanks for posting. Yes, it does sound like you need new casement window operators. This is either the 39-253LB and 39-253RB, or the 39-438B and 39-439B. These operators are identical except for the appendage at the end of the straight arm. The video below explains.

In either case, for new covers and handles, it is very likely your old operators had the covers fixed to the operator base, in which case you will need new ones. See the 39-375 and 39-376, or the 39-451 and 39-452, depending on the style you prefer.
