Identify replacement parts for 23 lb Single hung vinyl window

Question

Spiral tilt balance Red Tip 3/8 x 35" (aluminum tube); have pictures of pivot lock shoe and pivot bar on window bottom. The pivot lock shoe is about 2" h and ~1 1/8' w. The opening in the channel is about 3/4" with no cutout to remove/replace. (probably need jam spreaders). I clicked on Add Photos, but no response.

Your old style pivot shoe isn't made anymore, but I've used our 15-046 to replace it many times without issue. Just make sure to check our dimensions before you buy anything to be certain they're the same; that means you have to remove it to get the width AND thickness. Height doesn't matter, and the other two are difficult to measure so long as it's installed. Removal prior to purchase is a normal part of this kind of project and a necessary step.

For the pivot bar, see our 26-040. Once again make sure to check all dimensions, especially the placement of the screw holes relative to the front tip.

If your track has no cutout, then I recommend making one. Jamb spreaders are really only cost-effective if you're a professional who is going to use them daily. Otherwise making your own cutout is a quick and easy solution. The video below shows you how it can be done.
