Inverted tilt balance on MW windows, vinyl classic single hung

Thanks for writing in! It appears you have an older version of our Series 795 Channel Balance. Since yours have a 15-198 Balance Clip Attachment installed to the top of them, the replacements will need to be custom assemblies. The shoe is the 15-194 1" T-Lock Balance Shoe.
I'm happy to provide you with a quote for the replacements but I'll need to know the lengths and stamps of the other balances.
Please also confirm the number of each balance stamp you need. There is a quantity minimum of (2) balances for custom assemblies. This is applied by stamp option.
My concern is that the same problem may occur with the replacements, where the shoe releases from the balance, making the window difficult to open and causing a safety issue. What has been done to the design of the shoe and balance to prevent this issue?

The balance is likely to be failing because it has worn out over time. We do not have any other recommendations we can make for the replacements, but replacing the channels should fix the issue you are experiencing.
I would also suggested double checking the sash weights for the sashes. This will help to determine if the stamps on the channels are appropriate for the sash weight. For example, the 30B stamp will support a sash weighing 13 to 19lbs.

It's Monday! The sash weight is approx 17 lbs. The channels are all the same stamp and length. I will need 16 pieces(8 pairs). The channels are 30" long and are stamped with 30B. As you mentioned, I will need the balance clip attachment, customize design. Can you give me an estimate for this order. How much is shipping to zip code 28681? I've forwarded the quote to your email for review. Once you've added the balances to your online cart, you'll need to be sure to add the 15-194 shoes to the cart from the website. You'll need to swap them out with the shoes that come assembled on the balance.
You'll be able to confirm the shipping costs during the checkout process.
