Is there a way to determine the Anderson replacement balance without removing the window.

A quick learner from New Jersey says:
Can you determine the proper sash balance for an Anderson double hung window without removing the sashes and the header liner. Can you tell from the sash size the appropriate balance.

We can make an educated guess based on the height and width of your visible glass, but there are no guarantees that our suggestion will be what you need. Identifying based on the stamps is the most accurate and reliable way.
A quick learner from New Jersey says:
The lower sash, glass only, is 28 and one half inches wide by 35 and 7/8 inches long.

The upper sash is 28 and 3/8 inches wide by 24 inches long. Can you tell me what size sash balances I need?

Thanks

Thank you! Based on this information, I recommend our 24-L8-1227 for the left hand side and the 24-R12-827 for the right hand side.
