Issue with closing casement windows

A home owner from Colorado Springs, CO says:
I have two windows, one with right and one with left crank. They open fine, but they won't close all the way. So I'm thinking I need a new operator for each. However, before I order, I guess I need to remove the operators? I can't figure out how to take the base cover off, so I can take the operators out. Do they just pop off or do I need to unscrew everything first. It almost looks like a seal around the cover. I hope these photos help. Thanks

Hello!

The assembly in your photos is a match for our 39-253LB & 39-253RB or 39-439B & 39-438B, depending on the guide at the end of the arm. See the video below, this will explain the differences and help you with choosing the correct operator for your repairs.

The cover on your operator may not be designed to remove. In some cases, these are built into the base itself which means you would need new 39-451 and 39-452 cover and handles. As for how to remove the operator assembly itself, you would need to unscrew the screws that attach it to the sill and disconnect the arm from the sash track. Let me know if this helps or if you had any questions!
