Looking for Window Channel balancer hardware

Quick Learner from Virginia
My house was built by Ryan homes back in 2003 (I'm not the original owner). I have several windows with the above label (only markings I could find) that have broken channel balancers (with busted shoe as well). Trying to locate the appropriate parts.I suspect it may be a Series 795 Channel. I was told these were PlyGem windows if that helps. Thanks

Hi there!

Your balance indeed looks like a match for the Series 795. However, you'll want to remove the old T-lock shoe to confirm whether it matches the specifications of the 15-195 that comes with the balance. This shoe is 1-1/4" wide and has a closed cam as shown below.

Can you confirm the length of the metal channel and the stamp printed on the back of it? Additionally, does the balance install at the top of the track with a screw or a hook?

I don't see any screws on my balancer apart from the screw at the very top where the string connects to it.The stamp reads 36C. Thanks for the help. I really do appreciate it.Finding someone local to help has been impossible, so trying to DIY the best I can, and part 1 is finding the right parts!

I'm happy to help! The S795-36 with the 36C stamp looks like a good match. This installs at the top of the window track with a screw like your old balance.

I'm afraid I still can't determine the size or if the shoe has an open or closed cam from these photos, though. Take a look at the video below starting at the 3:15 mark. We show how to install the balance, but you'll just have to do this in reverse to remove the balance. I hope this helps.

Perfect thank you! I'll be ordering some new channel balancers and hope they fit.Trying to find replacement sashes is the near impossible part. If anyone has any leads/resources, I'd appreciate it. Even had a few "window companies" come out and have been told they can't locate any. I dont know how much of that is truth vs wanting to upsell a full window replacement.

I'm afraid we don't have any leads for a new sash. However, your best bet would ultimately be to contact the original manufacturer or supplier of the window.

Finally got around to taking the old channel balancer off. Looks like the 1.25" 15-195 included cam with the 795 Series should work

Yes, that indeed looks like the 1-1/4" shoe. If the cam is closed as shown below, you're good to go with the default shoe that comes with the balances.

Note that if the cam is open, you'd need the 15-195B instead.
