Looking to replace balances and pivot shoes on window

A home owner from Cedar Falls, Iowa says:
I have original windows in our home built in 2008 that appear to be Millgard, however all the Millgard balances I find online look different than these and don't seem to have a pivot shoe.

In a few of the windows in our house the pivot shoes seem to have warn and come out of the balance.

I did look at the 32" SERIES 795 CHANNEL BALANCE
https://www.swisco.com/32-inch/pd/Series-795-Channel-Balances/S795-32

But they didn't seem to have the same type of hook to attach the balance to the window.

Would you be able to help me identify a replacement balance an pivot shoe?

Thank you for your help.

Does this balance attach to the top of the window with a hook like our 15-198? If so, we can custom build S795-32 balances for you with that hook attached on top. There may even be a simpler solution though--can you show me a picture of the hole in the jamb track where that hook connects? The shape of the hole will tell us your best option.

For the T-Lock Shoe, please confirm if it is most like the 15-195, 15-195B, or 15-194

A home owner from Cedar Falls, Iowa says:
Thank you for your time and assistance!

The hole looks to be a simple drilled hole. I'll attach pictures of the hole and better pictures of hook.

I'll review the t-lock shoes here and reply to that separately.

Thanks for replying. It seems to me then you're going to need 32" Series 795 balances with a stamp option of 32C, and with the 15-198 hook attached which connects to that round hole in the window jamb. Our standard Series 795 doesn't have this hook, but we can make balances for you that have it attached via a custom order, without issue. I just need to narrow down to final pieces of information:

  • Which T-Lock Shoe do you need? Again, it will either be the 15-195 1-1/4" Closed Cam Shoe, the 15-195B 1-1/4" Open Cam Shoe (you can see through the back of it), or the 15-194 1" Shoe. Whichever shoe your balances need, we will attach to these replacements.
  • How many balances do you need?

Let me know, and I'll get a quote written up for you right away.

Attached are the pictures for the channel.

Given the size I think 15-195 1-1/4" Closed Cam Shoe or the 15-195B 1-1/4" Open Cam Shoe. I believe I will need the closed cam shoe - could you include both and I can switch to the open cam shoe if needed?

I would also like to include a couple of pivot bars - I added an image of the bottom of the window I think this is the 26-021 - does this look correct to you?

I would like to start out with just a set of these for this window to see how it goes. Then I'll start looking at other windows to fix them.

Thank you again for all your help!

I just sent you an email with a custom link enclosed to order (2) 32C Series 795 balances with the 15-198 hook attached. These come with the 15-195 by default. If it turns out you need the 15-195B instead, you can order it through the online store. The first video below shows how to swap T-Lock shoes out; it's a pretty easy process.

I can't be sure about the pivot bar from this angle. The 26-021 is commonly used with the Series 795, but this is only a guess. The second video below shows how to remove and replace pivot bars. Again, these pivot bars too you can put into your cart separately via the online store. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you again for all your help! I've submitted the order.

I received my parts today, and replaced the bad balancers and pivot shoes.

The default pivot shoes worked, and was glad that I got the pivot bars as my existing would not fit in the shoes.

Thank you for your time and help!

I would like to order (4) S795-26 balances stamped with a 26B with a 15-198 hook. Please let me know if you have any questions.
