Maybe part type 795, but has different shoe size
The balance is 32" long, 9/16 inch wide and 1/2 inch thick.
The show is 1 1/4" wide and 15/32" wide at the top. It looks very much like your 15-195B, EXCEPT, my shoe is 2" long and is marked with a number 28 in the lip of the shoe (see photo) where your 15-195B is marked with a number 23.
I would think that as long as the shoe and the balance were purchased as a set, the 1/4" of difference in the show length wouldn't matter, but I'm not sure.
I will need to purchase different length and strength combinations for the different windows I have, I can figure that out.
My question is....
What ballance and shoe combination do you recommend? Thank you very much
Hello,
The mold number printed on the shoe isn't anything to be concerned about and doesn't mean that our replacement won't work for your window. I also don't think the 1/8" difference in height will make much of a difference as long as you're replacing the entire assembly.
As for your balance, it looks like you might have the 15-198 hook attachment, which does not come with our stock S795 balances but we can attach it for you through a custom order. We can also attach the 15-195B open cam t-lock shoe while were at it.
To get started, we'll need you to confirm that the 15-198 is what you have since it's a bit hard to make out the clip in your photo. Also, please confirm the number of balances that you'd like to order, with the minimum being two, and we can go from there. Thank you!
As far as the 15-198, I have attached a better picture of my end. I bent the end while removing it. It normally attaches as a flat piece of metal. I think, think, that this matches the standard connection point for the S795, but I will be guided by your opinion.
I need 8 x S795-32, with 15-195B (and the appropriate attachment device) for windows that are 21 pounds.
I need 4x S795-21, with 15-195B (and attachments) for windows that are 15 pounds.
Thanks again.
Hello! Casey isn't here today, but looking over your discussion with her it looks like you guys have everything sorted out.
The It also looks like your balance has a screw tab at the top, which is going to make your life a whole lot easier. That means that these will not have to be custom made. What you can do is purchase our S795-32 and 15-195B separately, and then pop the 15-195B onto the channel when you get them. These just snap on and off, it's very simple. I'll link a video at the end that shows you how it's done.
Your stamp of 32-5 is itself a little peculiar. That should correspond to our own 32E stamp, which carries 30 through 34 pounds, but you should triple check to make sure that your metal channel length isn't 33" instead. Some older balances with stamps like yours are 1" longer than what the stamp indicates. It can't hurt to check just in case.
Thank you all so very much. Have a great weekend.
