Need Part ID for pivot shoe Silverline 2900 Series
I watched the you tube video and don't want to make a cut out in the window frame until I have the replacement piece. Here are the measurements
1 3/4 inch in length and 1 inch wide
I will send you the serial number from another window (although a smaller window) maybe that will be useful
Thanks for writing in! The balance you have appears to be the Series 765 Balance. Which has a pivot shoe hook on the bottom. This balance is typically used with the 15-046 1/2" Thick Pivot Shoe. However, the only way to know with certainty that this is the right replacement will be to confirm the measurements.
I understand your concern, however, the two measurements you've provided only give part of the details. I won't be able to tell you from the photo what the thickness of your shoe is. As explained, the shoe typically used with the balance you have is our 15-046 but I cannot confirm that this is what you'll need with certainty.
The shoe is still in the frame of the window, so there is no way to confirm that you have accurate measurements.
The other alternative is to purchase the shoe and hope that it is the correct fit. However, if it is not, that means that you will have gone through the process of making the cutouts to install the shoes and then waiting to obtain the correct replacement if this does happen to be incorrect.
I do apologize that I cannot give you a more concrete recommendation at this time.
Thoughts?
We do not have an exact match for the pivot shoe you have here. However, the most important measurements will be the width and the thickness of the shoe.
Your shoe is still installed in the window, so it is very likely the width you've provided is not accurate and you have not confirmed the thickness of the shoe.
At any rate, you will need to be the one to compare the measurements for the shoe. As explained, the shoe typically recommended for the balance you have is the one we've shown to you. However, that doesn't guarantee that this will be the shoe you need. There are other shoes we can recommend however, introducing them into the conversation would just bring us back to square one; you'll need to confirm the measurements.
The only way to confirm that this will fit your window is for you to confirm the measurements for the hardware that will be installed for your project. There isn't really any way around this.
Wish me luck
Candie
I have attached the photo of my shoe and measurements. It appears that the width and depth are the same but the length is a little longer. I would like to try them please.
Also do you sell the pixie to fill in where I cut out the shoe in the window to fill in the gap?
Candie
Given the confirmed width and the thickness of your shoe, I can confirm that the 15-046 is the best possible replacement. The height of the shoe should not be a factor in the function of the shoe in the window. Although, there is a chance you may need to replace the pivot bar to one compatible with our shoe.
Unfortunately, we do not sell anything the cover the cutout. If you've made the cutout high enough in the window, as is shown in the video, the cutout should not impede with the proper function of the window. If there is a large concern about covering the hole up, you will need to visit a local hardware store.
I hope this helps!
As mentioned, the balance you have appears to be our Series 765 Balance. Since yours is stamped with a 29 5, it is likely you'll need the S765-30 with a 29-5 stamp. The balances are only sold as complete assemblies.
The compatible pivot bar is part 26-040.
Please let me know if this is not the part you are searching for.
