Need mods to 26" Series 795 block and tackle channel Balance

Contractor from DeLand, FL

Hi Swisco Help Desk,

I recently purchased two new balancers but didn’t pay close enough attention to the details. I need a 1" T-Lock Balance Shoe, Open Cam (Green - 15-194) instead of the 1-1/4" T-Lock Balance Shoe, Open Cam (White) that came with my order.

Additionally, could you please verify from the attached picture that the cam is indeed an Open Cam and not a Closed Cam? I want to ensure my understanding is correct before proceeding.I also require the Hook for the cable end rather than the Eyelet, which was standard on the balancers I received. The hook dimensions are detailed in the attached photo.

Could you please confirm:- If I can purchase the replacement parts separately and modify the balancers myself (and if so, what the correct part numbers are for the hooks), or- If I need to order new balancers with the correct components pre-installed.Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. The shoe on the right in your photos looks more like a closed cam style but I'm not sure if that's just a trick of the lighting. However, the 15-194 would be the best we can offer as we don't sell a version of this with an open cam.

We do sell the 15-198 hook, though our specifications are off from yours. If you wanted to install the hooks yourself, you will need a bench vice to securely clamp onto the cord to make sure it doesn't snap back into the pulley while you swap the clips out. These cords are under a lot of tension and if it gets away from you then it could potentially ruin the balance; if you aren't careful, it can also take out an eye. If you proceed with this, make sure to wear safety goggles and gloves, just to be safe.

I would like to point out that if the hole where your hook fits is square-shaped, you can use the 26-200 balance screw plug. This will allow you to use the S795 with the screw tab as it is. The video below will explain the steps in detail.

We can also assemble the Series 795 balance with the 15-198 hook here in our warehouse. It'll just have to be a custom order which is nonrefundable. If you'd like to go this route, please let us know the stamp on the metal channel and we can get the ball rolling.
