Non-tilt channel balances for double hung window

Quick Learner from Grass Valley, CA
The cord has snapped in a couple of channel balances. They are stamped with

25 5 JS CALDWELL

Do you carry replacements? Alternatively, can I purchase new cords for the existing channel balances?

Thanks
Ken

Hi, Ken. We're getting close, but we can't identify the balance based on that information. We need to see both plastic ends of the balance, so please send photos to show us.

Attaching pictures of the two ends. A second window balance has snapped and that is a Caldwell 19 5 AT.

The 25 5 is 26 inches long (excluding the ends) and the
19 5 is 20 inches. The ends add 1 inch exactly to the total length.

For each balance, measure the bottom shoe as shown below. A 1" shoe belongs to a Series 380, but a 1-3/32" shoe corresponds to a Series 385. Your two balances look like the same Series, but check both to be sure. The "25 5" stamp refers to a 2550 stamp option and a 26" metal channel. You'll need S380-26 or S385-26. The "19 5" corresponds to a S380-20 or S385-20 with a 1950 stamp option. The lengths can be verified by measuring the metal channel, and the stamps can be verified by measuring the weight of the sliding window sash and comparing to the stamp option chart on the item webpage for the balance you need.

Yes, the shoes are all 1 3/32 inch like the picture.

I am interested in purchasing two of the S385-26 and
two of the S385-20.

I am confident they will work, and now happy to have a source, as I am sure more of these will fail in the future!
Thanks
