Older Caradco WIndow operator arm

Home Owner from Massachusetts
Hello,

just trying to identify a replacement part or a substitute for this part. The arm is about 15.5" long. Can't find replacement. It is champagne/aluminum finish. Any help to identify the part and where i could order it would be appreciated. Thanks

This looks like a very old style operator. We may be able to find something that can work, but I bet any substitute we come up with will require some kind of alteration to work.

Before I go any further down that road, can you show me an undamaged version of your operator? I'd especially like to see the end of the arm. I want a better idea of how the arm attaches to the sash. A picture of the track on the sash would also be a huge help.

Thank you for your reply. Any workable substitute would be a great. Adjustments are expected.I am enclosing pictures of a functioning operator , also pictures of a damaged lock (to see if there are any substitutes available for locks as well). Thanks again

Thank you! So, I think you may be able to use our 39-013 and 39-014 operators to replace yours. These have a 13-1/2" sized arm, which is the longest we're able to carry. They also have the same wheel bearing at the end and install in a track similar to yours (39-505).

I know our arm is a little shorter than yours, but it may still work. Some alterations may be necessary, like I mentioned before. You might have to move it back further on the sill, or you could even have to cut the sill trim to accept the new style base. It's hard to say from this vantage. This is one of those projects that will require experimentation and trial and error. You may want the advice of a local professional who can actually come out and get their hands on your window.

The lock itself is, fortunately, an easy one. You have an older version of our 38-097 and 38-098 locks. I'm confident these will work for you, but you'll also need a new 38-079 keeper. The new style lock won't work with the old style keeper.
