Parts for Simonton window

Hello,

My name is Mike, and I am looking at replacing all of the parts on my Simonton window. The numbers and letters on the side of the window are D0729 and DMSHWI. I've attached a photo. I'm not sure of what the parts are called, but I need all new coil balancers, (I believe they are 3/8 wide), new coil supports, new coil support covers, new pivot shoes and locks (if this window even has them,(i just haven't gotten that far), and new vent latch,(I think that's what it's called. It's the spring mechanism you push inward from both sides to enable the tilt function). If there is such a thing as a kit with everything, (and even things i don't need), I am interested in that as well. If you need more photos, just let me know, I'll be glad to send them.

Thanks for posting. I am confident we can help, but I am afraid we can't narrow down what you need from any information on that sticker, nor are their kits for a given brand. Unfortunately, most window manufacturers are pretty unpredictable in the specific parts they use for each window, and Simonton is no exception. The result is that, to know what you need, we have to see each component out of the window. From there we'll do our best to narrow down your options. Thanks for the reply. I've attached a couple more photos that may help. The first one shows the width of the spring lock mechanism, (5/8"). The second pic shows the spring lock mechanism length, (2 5/8"). The third pic shows the size of the plastic cover that goes over the wound springs. The fourth pic shows where the cover and springs are supposed to be. The fifth pic shows them uncovered and broken at the bottom. I will need to order all of these parts. Please let me know if you need any other pics or info.

This confirms for me you're probably either working with 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balances, or 3/8" thick Series 165 Coil Balances. But the only way to know which is to remove them from the window and measure the thickness of the springs. And even then, I'd prefer to see the pivot shoe these balances connect to, since that will absolutely confirm if these are the springs you need. The video in my previous post shows how to remove and replace these types of systems.

Hey Mike. The coil spring looks like it's a Series 165, but just make sure that thickness is correct. The Pivot Shoe is our 15-199. The pivot bar might be the 26-378, which is commonly used with this pivot shoe, but please remove to confirm.

Thanks for the quick reply Bob. I have a couple question first to get the info you need.
First, can you let me know what the pivot bar looks like? And second, are you talking about the actual thickness of the spring metal itself, something I might need a micrometer to measure, or the width of the spring when it's all wound up.

Click on the link for the 26-378, in this very sentence--that will show you pictures. As far as the coil spring thickness, I mean the 'width' of the tape. The Series 165 is 3/8" thick, whereas the Series 160 is 1/2" thick. Let me know if you have further questions.
