Pivot Shoe Replacement

A home owner from New York says:
Hi,

I need to replace a pivot shoe for an old American Craftsman Series 4000 double-hung window that was purchased at Home Depot.

I've removed the shoe but, with only a tape measure, am having a difficult time determining the correct size. It looks like its 1/2" thick but may be 9/16". Also, I didn't know if the height measurement included the semi-circle protrusion at the bottom or it was just corner to corner. Corner to corner it looks like it's 2". Width looks like 1 3/16" but you only have 1 1/4" so it must be that, right?

I just want to make sure I order the correct shoe(s) and was curious to know if there is any way to confirm this from the photos and information provided.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Howard,

Take a look at another customer discussion here with a similar pivot shoe form an American Craftsman window. We recommended they consider our 15-046 as a replacement, depending on how the dimensions compared. Take a look and see if this part might work for you as well. Thank you!

A home owner from New York says:
Hi Casey,

Thank you very much for getting back with me. I thought it was the 15-046 but wasn't sure. It looks like the image from the other discussion is similar but different as it doesn't have the top metal piece that my shoe has.

I see that the most important measurements though are the depth and width.

Thanks again for the help.

The metal piece is there to support the spiral balance tip, which the 15-046 has. Also, you are correct that the width and thickness are vital when choosing a replacement pivot bar.

Hi Casey,

Great. Thank you for confirming. I appreciate it.
