Pivot shoe won't go back in

Thanks for posting. It is not always easy to get these pivot shoes in and out of the jamb track even when you have a cutout. It can take some effort, though you want to be careful not to damage the track or the shoe. If it's a vinyl window, another option would be to use jamb spreaders like our 75-069. Finally, one customer proposed a method using a heat gun to 'soften' the channel enough to easily get the shoes in and out; though if you attempt this, you obviously want to take great care not to damage the window! You can read more about these options in this older discussion here.
Ultimately however, it can take some effort to get a pivot shoe in and out of the window track. Of course, you also want to be absolutely sure you have the correct replacement shoe--if it's the wrong size, it simply won't fit the track! If you're uncertain of this, please provide pictures of your original shoe, and also tell us its width and thickness.
