Reinstalling parts on broken windows

Quick Learner from Aiken, SC

We have determined that the coil balance ins #6 but are uncertain on the parts numbers for the standard support and the pivot shoe. I need those identifiers to order the right part.

My Simonton window mechanisms have broken on some of my windows. I noticed when taking them apart that the ones that broke were all 4installed above the sliding window (img 6382) and the ones that are still operational were installed in a notched area where the window slides up and down. (img 6379)

Should they "all" be installed in the notched area or is there a specific reason for this difference in installation process.

Thanks, Char

My son who is helping me is a "quick learner".

Hey Char. No, these coil balance systems don't need to be installed in the 'cutout'. If these coil balances were ever replaced before, some versions had different travel lengths than others, which might explain why some were in different positions. See the video below which shows how to remove and replace these coil balance systems. I see you purchased the 15-199, Series 165 Springs, and 15-204 Dual Supports. Let me know if you had any other inquiries.
