Replacement /new operator

Quick Learner from New York
I moved into an apt that has two openable skylights- one is currently operable, I've provided that pic for reference. The other one is screwed closed but can open and has this leftover hardware indicating that it used to have a mechanism to open it- this is second picture. I have looked at your angle drive a bit and think it would work even though it looks a little different than my working one but want to inquire before ordering. Are there considerations that I havent thought of/othet things you would need to know?

Thanks for writing in! Your skylight operator appears similar in style to our 39-379 Skylight Operator. It is a bit different in design, so I cannot guarantee that it will work as a replacement. That said, take a look over the dimensions and design and compare it to your operator to determine if this could work for you.

Your operator appears to use the 39-247 Eyelet Adapter. Another replacement option is the 39-336 Universal Joint With Pole Ring.

thanks for this, my remaining question would be how the end of the link chain might work with my hardware piece. I got a better photo to share- looks like it might work but hard to say for sure with your model. what do you think? I shouldve measured it but didnt, I'd guess the lil piece width is between 1-2inches... or would I need to remove my piece for one of yours? I found a brand in case that's helpful, Insula Dome? out of business I guess

The installation bracket on the end of our chain would not be compatible with your existing bracket, you would need to remove it to install this skylight. Our operator does not use any other attachments.

When comparing the dimensions, the most important measurement to confirm would be the distance between the installation holes, shown as 1-5/8" on the diagram above.

From what I understand, Insula-Dome Skylights has gone out of business, so I am not sure that any other retailers would be able to supply you with a direct replacement.
