I need to buy replacement parts and get your advice on how to install the rods. I don't have the type that connects to the bottom of the sash.

We have a guide on replacing non-tilt spiral balances, which you can view here. As for replacement parts, take a look and compare the 18-034 top sash guide, which is often used with the 3/8" diameter S400 spiral balance. You can also find a list of compatible brackets under the related items section of the S400 product page. Thank you!
