Searching for 7490

Quick Learner
I'm looking for replacement channel balances (S395?). Original parts are stamped 2790, but I'm not finding them on your site. Are they available?

Hello there. Channel Balances with stamps that end with a -9 or -90 go by a rating system we do not use. In this case, the best thing to do is to weigh the window sash and give us the exact sash weight. We can use that to determine which stamp option you should select.

Now just to be safe, I should also note that stamps do not tell us the balance's identity, just its calibrated strength. If you're not certain you have a Series 395, please send us photos of the nylon fittings or attachments at either end of the balance. The combo of fittings your balance uses determines what kind, or Series, you have. Finally, please measure the length of the metal channel--but do not include the end fittings in that measurement. That should be enough information to narrow down what you have.

Length is 28". I haven't been able to completely remove the window yet, so I can't provide the exact weight, but it's pretty heavy.

Thank you. I don't think this is our Series 395 channel balance, since the bottom fitting has wings. Instead, consider our S385-28. This comes with the 19-005 top and 15-004 bottom fittings. The top is very different in design compared to our 19-005, but that shouldn't matter. As long as the depth of your shoe is the same as our 15-004 at 1-3/32" then I'm very confident that this will work for you.

You will need an exact weight before you move forward with a purchase. I don't recommend buying anything until you have that number in hand. Estimations will unfortunately not suffice.

The window weighs 35 lbs. I also discovered that the sash guides are broken. I am attaching pictures and hoping you might be able to provide replacements. The manufacturer is Fleetwood Aluminum products, Inc., aka Fleetwood Windows and Doors in Corona, CA. These are about 29 years old.

Great, thanks! With a 35 pound sash, you want to use our 2765 option when prompted. Two balances with this stamp option can carry 33 through 36 pounds, which should be perfect for your window.

To reiterate my last post, I think our S385-28 would be the better option, but you need to check those nylon fittings to verify.

This top sash guide is unfortunately like nothing I've ever seen before. At 29 years old there is a good chance these haven't been made in a long time, but it's just not a style I'm familiar with so I can't say for sure. The only thing I can tell you with confidence is that we don't sell anything that could replace this. The design is just too unique.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
