Semco?

Question

I opened an old casement window that was caulked and painted in.  The crank works however the smaller arm that guides the corner of the window is detached, so I think I need a new crank mechanism.   The articulation from the top of the window seems to be working fine.  The crank that is spin to open the window (the little piece that is touched and spun by hand)  says "semco" on it.  Any advice on the crank mechanism is welcome.  Thank you.

Thanks for your post! The window operator you have appears to be an older version of the 39-013 Casement Window Operator. The opposite version is the 39-014. To confirm that this is the right replacement, you'll need to measure the length of the arm. Please let me know if the length differs.

The compatible tracks are either the 39-505 or 39-533; the handles are either the 39-114L or 39-205 (folding) crank handle.

Dimensions for 39-013

The arm that has detached from the window sill is part of the casement window hinge. I believe you can use either the 36-048 or 36-049 2-Bar Hinge Set. To determine which of these is the correct replacement you'll need to carefully review and compare the dimensions to the existing hinges.

These sets can be used to replace both the top and bottom hinges, for right and left handed applications. It is advised to replace the top and bottom hinges at the same time.
