Side bay window

Window crank does not work to open and close bay windows.  Can I just replace the items shown

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! I'm sorry to say you would not be able to replace just the items shown in the photo. The worm gear that interacts with the operator has become completely stripped. This piece is installed using heavy machinery and it isn't something sold separately, unfortunately.

That being said, I'm happy to recommend a replacement for the entire mechanism but I will need to see a photo of the operator's arm(s) and how it attaches to the bottom of the window.

Thanks for the additional photos. I believe the operator you have is an older model of GU window operator. The exact replacement for it is no longer made but our 39-316 Truth Dyad Operator will work to replace it. The opposite version is the 39-315. The dimensions for them can be viewed on the website.

You may also need to replace the bracket on the bottom of the sash with the 39-513 Stud Bracket. The detach clip at the end of the arm is the 39-105 Stainless Steel Detach Clip.
