Simonton 5500 Double Hung window balances

Greetings,

I am interested in purchasing replacement window balances for my Simonton windows. I have attached photos of the factory balances and pivot shoe. The markings on the items are visible in the photos. Please advise if these are available and how to purchase. Thank you.

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! Your Simonton coil balance shoe is no longer made but we recommend the 15-259 Coil Balance Pivot Shoe. Your existing pivot bar will not be compatible with this, but the 26-083 will work fine to replace it.

This shoe is compatible with the Series 159 Coil Balance. I believe you may need either the S159-08 or the S159-09 but I am unable to make out the exact number on the stamp in the photo. Since this assembly appears to only use a single coil, you'll need the 15-255 Coil Single Support. Take a look at the video tutorial below for a detailed explanation on this conversion.
