Simonton Window Con-Force Balances

Question

Hello!  Looking for con-force balance and tilt lock shoe replacements - Simonton Double Hung 5500 series window, sash width 35.25" x height 59.25" with 50/50 meeting rail.  My customer said he is unwilling to try to remove the old ones without having new ones to put in, so I don't have the info from the coil itself or weight of sash, but I'm hoping we can come up with something based on what is known.  He also sent sticker info - "8421425/13 35.25 59.25 55DHWI 50348LEAR."  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for posting! You have an older, discontinued Simonton assembly. We can no longer supply the replacements for them, so you'll need to use the 15-259 Coil Balance Pivot Shoe. Your existing pivot part will not be compatible, so you'll also need to purchase the 26-083. The specifications for these parts can be found on the website.

This shoe uses the Series 159 Coil Balance. You'll need to look for a stamp/marking on the coils to determine the springs needed for the replacement. Please see the (tutorial tagged below this thread) for instructions on how to select the correct coil weight option. We use a different assembly in the video but the process is the same.

The compatible cover is the 15-256 Coil Double Support.
