Simonton coil balance spring

Home Owner from Dahlonega, Georgia
I have a few Simonton windows that need new coil balance springs. The existing broken spring is not marked. They are the 1/2" wide spring. The window size is roughly 24" wide and 19" high. I am not sure what spring weight to order. Thanks

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see your original coil springs and the pivot shoe that they attach to fully removed from the window to compare to our inventory. If there are no numbers stamped on the coils, we'll also need to know the exact weight of the window sash to determine the strength options needed for your replacement coils. See the videos related on this page to help you through the process. Thank you!

Thank you for the quick reply. The window sash weighs 8 lbs on a bathroom scale. Attached are photos of the broken spring, 3 of the pivot shoe and one of the part where the spring lives.

Thanks for getting back to us. Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-199. Compare the dimensions below to determine if the dimensions match up to yours.

As for the coil springs, the 17/32" thick 15-199 is compatible with the 1/2" thick S160 coil spring coil spring. For an 8-pound sash, you can use one S160-04 on each side. We also offer the 15-150S single support for these coil springs.
