I need the appropriate coil for a simonton double hung window

Hey there!

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see a photo of an undamaged pivot shoe removed from the window track to determine your replacement options.

Emily, I wasn't able to find any undamaged pivot shoes on the windows. Pretty much all of the parts are crumbling. I am attaching the best I could find .

Thanks for getting back to me! Based on what I see in these new photos, I recommend our 15-111 pivot shoe which is designed to be used with the Series 160 coil springs. For a new coil support, see the 15-150D or 15-150T depending on how many springs you have per side. Look over the specifications for these parts and let me know if you have any questions.

I ordered the recommended parts the coils and shoes are exactly the same as the original parts however the coil supports do not go into the window track with the coils in place. I can get the supports in only if the coils are not in place. The support cracked and pooped out when coils were in place. What can I do?
Also the tilt latches I ordered are about 1/8th of an inch too long for my window. Is there another slim fit tilt latch that is slightly shorter?

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. The Series 160 coil spring band is 1/2" wide. Can you measure the width of yours to confirm? I wonder if you may need a different Series of springs.

I'm afraid we don't have another version of the 26-390 and 26-391. Our 26-243 and 26-244 were the first parts to come to mind. This measures 2-5/8" long. Remove an undamaged tilt latch and compare the dimensions with ours to see what you think.
