Sliding door lock system

Home Owner from Columbia, MD
One dang screw was loose so as I started to unscrew stuff to then tighten it back together... I stupidly unscrewed too much and the lock mechanism slid down inside the door. I'd (in this order) 1) take the door off/turn it upside down/get the parts out and screw it in right but can't seem to get the door off, 2) get replacement lock for this door.

Hello, thank you for writing in! Based on your keeper, I believe your mortise lock could be either our 82-260 or 82-265. Take a look and let me know what you think!

I think you are probably spot on. Will this let me stabilize the plate in the door?

Remember, a piece fell into the door itself.

Hi there. I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you mean. You should be able to tell which mortise lock would be appropriate by measuring the distance between the installation holes. You can click here for a video that you may find helpful, as it shows the process for replacing a mortise lock.
