Spring counter balance
I need the counter balance for both sides of the bottom sash.
The pivot shoe is 9/16 thick and 1 1/4" wide. There were 2 coil springs on each side
Hello, thank you for posting,
To further review, we will need to see pictures of the original pivot shoe and coil springs. From there we can compare to our selection to determine if we are able to offer a suitable replacement option. Thank you!
One of the springs has a 71 stamped on the back of it. The other one has a 7 HI
Hope this helps
Thank you,
Your coil housing resembles the 15-087 that is compatible with the Series 180 coil springs. Please review the dimensions below to confirm. It appears the assembly uses 2 coils which would use the 15-086 tandem coil housing.
I think you might have two S180-7 coils that can support 7 pounds of weight each, but are you able to weigh the window sash? The sash would need to be removed and placed on a scale. If this is the case, the sash should weigh 28 pounds total when combining the coils on the other side of the window. Let me know!
I'm wondering if they are the ones I need. Please advise.
I wouldn't suggest the Series 140 in this case, no. While it may be similar in terms of size, the way it installs and operates in the window track is very different from your original balance. We always recommend sticking with the same hardware as you had originally to avoid any potential complications. In your case, I agree with Lauren's prior assessment that you have our 15-087 pivot carrier and Series 180 coil spring.
