T-Lock Balance and Tilt Latch

Home Owner from Raymore Missouri
Our home was built in 2008 and the windows are Quaker Window Products - Manchester, Single-Hung. I ordered from your website Tilt Latch Item #26-393B and 1-1/4" T-Lock Balance Item # 15-195B and both were pretty close. The Tilt Latch I need is 2-11/16" in length instead of 2-6/16". The T-Lock I need is only about 6/16" thick compared to the one I ordered which is about 8/16" thick. In the pictures, my window part is the one on the top and your item is the bottom item. The thickness and "hook" end of the T-Lock I ordered is just too thick with not enough room on the hook to grab my window part and set in the sash. If you could help hone me in to a better part, I will give that a try. Thanks so much!

Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not carry a t-lock shoe with an open cam and the same groove in the stem needed to attach to your original balance. The good news is that you can purchase new S795 channel balances and attach the 15-195B shoes that you purchased by following the video below.

Keep in mind that the S795 uses a screw clip at the end of the pulley to attach to the window jamb. You'll need to confirm if your balances use the same screw clip or a hook like the 15-198

As for your tilt latches, take a look and compare the dimensions of the 26-243 and 26-244 to your part. Please note that these measure 2-5/8" long, not including the locking tooth. Thank you.

I appreciate the help and follow up. My balances use a hook like the 15-198 (see photo) and they are 28 inches in length. I did not see a weight stamp on the balance though. Would that be a different channel balance then the S795 you referenced? It looks like the channel balances come with new t-lock shoes and run about $13. And then I would have to update both sides with new channel balances so I'm looking at $130 compared to $25 (just t-lock shoes). But then they would be updated. Is it pretty easy to replace the channel balances/clips? I'm hoping those come preassembled and tied at the top (hook)?

The tilt latches you recommended should work, thanks!

You are correct that our balances come with the t-lock shoes and pulley clips preattached. We can supply the S795 balance with the 15-198 clip but it will have to be a custom order. We would just need to confirm the number of balances that you would like to start with, with the minimum being two, to send over an order link and price quote.

You can hold onto the 15-195B t-lock shoes that you ordered to swap out the stock shoes as I mentioned, which will save you a bit of money on the custom order.
