Tilt Window Channel Balance

Thanks for reaching out to us. I believe we can supply a good match for this balance, but I cannot identify what you have from these photos. Do you have an undamaged balance that we can use as a reference? If so, please show me a clear picture of the clip, hook, shoe, or whatever else is at the end of that cord. We need to know how the balance connects to the bottom of the window sash.

I'd also like you to show us a photo of the top end of the balance and describe to me how it installs to the window track at the top.

Thank you! So that metal hook you show in your second photo, is that what installs at the top of the track? If so, there still be a shoe at the other end of the balance. All I see in your photo is a rivet. Do you have an undamaged balance that we can see? Knowing what kind of shoe goes at the bottom is very important.

Next, I note that your bottom rivet is pretty seriously bent. This tells me there might be some undue strain on where the  shoe installs there. I also see that you have a 28G stamp, which indicates a very heavy duty spring. Two balances with a 28G stamp can carry sashes weighing 36 through 40 pounds. 

My concern is that the spring might not be an appropriate strength for your sash weight. That would, in theory, cause extra strain on the rivet. Can you confirm that your sash weight falls within that 36 to 40 pound range?

Finally, after all that, can you tell me how many you need? 

Ahhh, I see now. This is perfect, thank you. Looks like you have our S795-28 but with the top screw clip swapped out for a 15-198 hook and the bottom shoe swapped out for the smaller, 1" wide 15-194.

We usually have these materials in stock, but the issue is your stamp of 28G. That indicates a very strong spring that can support sashes weighing 36 through 40 pounds. I just ran back and checked and I'm afraid that we do not have these in stock for the Series 795. There will be a lead time of approximately 5-6 weeks. I apologize for any inconvenience that may cause.
