Truth Window Crank

A quick learner from USA says:
Window crank threads into gears and will open the casement window. However, when trying to close the window the handle crank backs out and unthreads from the unit. Not sure if part of the crank shaft broke off or what. Any help would be appreciated

Hi there!

It looks like your worm gear came out with your handle. I'm afraid when this happens, it means the entire operator has broken down and needs to be replaced. We can help but we'd like to see a picture of your operator with the window open so that the arms that move the sash are fully visible.

Thank you!

A quick learner from USA says:
Thanks for the quick reply. Here is the opener mechanism.

Thank you for the additional pictures! This looks like an older version of our 39-035 and 39-036 operators. Review our dimensions and compare them to yours to see if this matches up to your original assembly.

A quick learner from USA says:
Yeah the measurements are correct. I ordered the part. Being that it is a vinyl jamb, am I correct to assume I just need to cut the bead of caulk and the bottom jamb will pry off? Thanks again for your help

Removing a vinyl sill cover is the same basic principle as removing a wood sill cover but it's a lot harder and comes with more risk. Just be very careful as you do not want to crack it. Take a look at the video below and see if this helps.
