Viking, series M-80; 23 and 29 inch channel replacement

A quick learner from California says:

The rail is approx 3/4 inch wide and deep.

I can't match it up with anything I see on the site under 23" (2240).

Looking for complete unit and caps that are mounted on the window as well.

Also looking for 29" (2840).

Thank you for the help.

Mike

Based on your photos, you have either our S390-23 or S351-23. The only difference between them is the size of the bottom fitting, which is indicated on their respective store pages. You'll need to measure your bottom fitting to confirm which one is best.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for the the info. Looks like 1 1/8, so I will go with the S-390. Just wanted to verify with you that these replacement "metal shafts" are approx 9/16 wide and deep? Not sure if it makes a difference, but that is the size of the originals.
I also need the plastic pieces shown below. They are located on the top corners of the window.
The black one is on the 29" tall window. The white one is on the 23" window.
Thank you again for the help with this. Hope you have a great holiday weekend!
Regards,
Mike

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hey, Mike. Yes, the metal channels on ours are *technically* considered 1/2" x 1/2", but between you and me it's closer to 9/16". I'm confident that won't be an issue.

These plastic parts are called top sash guides. These are tough to ID without precise dimensions. The black one may match our 18-166, but the white one is too damaged for me to help with. I recommend carefully comparing your dimensions to those we show on the 18-166 store page. Ditto for the white one, just in case, though if neither match then we'll need more detailed information and photos so that we can find something better.

A quick learner from California says:

Hi Tom,

So it appears the black and white top sashe pix I sent before are the same size, so that makes it easier. As for the example you sent me, it seems close, but not sure it is exact? Or needs to be for that matter?

Referring to the first pic below (side view).

Your sizes in left column, mine in the right :

  • 1/2 inch to my 5/8 depth
  • Length is same at 1.5 inches
  • 5/8 to my 1/2 height of top compartment
  • 5/16 to my 3/8 depth of lower compartment

Referring to second picture of the "front view"

Bother the width at the top and bottom match

  • Top hole matches at 3/16
  • 7/8 to my 3/4 on bottom hole.

Hope that all makes sense? Please let me know if the 18-166 Will work, is there a better match.

Thx again for your help and patience

Mike

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Most people with Viking windows in California have used the 18-009 black top sash guides. I think this may be what you want, especially since it's closer to your dimensions.

Just placed my order
