Which channel balance and pivot?

Hi,

The current channel balance makes a loud squealing sound when the window is moved up or down and lubrication on the balance helped for a few hours and then the noise returned.

I think I need S770-24 inch, but not sure if I need B or C etc. The existing balance says "BSI 2400 J" and if I had to guess the sash feels like it weighs 10 pounds or less.

Should I replace the pivot too? Which do I need?

Thank you!

Brian

Hey Brian. If the metal channel is 24" long, then it does look like you have an S770-24 Channel Balance. Since the stamp is a bit odd for this balance Series, the best thing to do is to weigh the window sash. It's best to go b an exact weight; placing the sash on a bathroom scale would suffice. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option under the product description on the S770-24 shop page.

The pivot shoe is likely the 15-129. We advise removing it and comparing with what you have to be certain. Let me know if you have further questions.
