Window balance coil replacement

Question

He there, I have a double hung pivot window that has broken balance coils. I have been unable to identify the window manufacturer. I've removed the coil, and you can see that the shoe is broken. The coils total 20#. From your parts catalog it looks like S140-20 has the same dimensions as my part. Would it be risky to replace my broken part with yours?

Hello! I don't think the S140-20 is what you want. It looks like it's just the shoe that has broken. If you can re-use the rest of your parts, you may be able to get away with just replacing that. Check out our 15-177 for a possible replacement, just make sure the dimensions are the same.
