Window balances and bottom weather seal

Home Owner from Elizabethtown, KY

I need to replace several balances and bottom weather seals on my windows. I have included photos of the weather seal, balances (both damaged and undamaged), and the pivot shoe. I removed the sash and it weighs just at 19 lbs. I have not removed any parts for inspection, but cannot locate any identification data on the in-place parts.

I do not see any 3-coil balances for this weight sash. Please advise on what you have that will work and the correct weather seal. After reviewing your how-to videos, I am comfortable doing this repair myself. If you need additional information, please let me know. Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hello,

Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-199, which uses either the  Series 160 or Series 165 coil springs depending on the diameter of your originals.

For a 19-pound sash, I would recommend using one S160-9 spring on each side of the window if your coils measure 1/2" wide, or use one S165-4 and S165-5 on each side if your coils measure 3/8" wide. You can find the compatible covers under the related items section of the coil spring product pages.

As for your weatherstripping, take a look and compare the dimensions of the 58-171 or 58-183 foam seals to yours. Thanks for posting!
