My channel balance and tilt shoe got separated and I cannot insert the shoe into the channel. My questions are:
What is the replacement kit?
I do not have a slot to insert the shoe. Can I cut it out at top or bottom?
Currently, the window is sliding to the very top.

Thanks for writing in. This is a Series 795 Channel Balance. Because the groove in the stem of both your t-lock shoe and your channel balance are not compatible with our hardware, I am afraid you will need to replace both the balance and the shoe. To remove the balance, unscrew it from the top and then lean it out of the jamb track. Since your T-Lock shoe is separated, you should be able to lean the stem out of the track, then rotate the shoe so that the wedges are vertical and the whole shoe can come out. Confirm the length of your balance; if it's 28", then you need an S795-28 with a stamp option of 28D. You'll want to make sure your T-Lock shoe matches the specifications of the shoe that comes installed with these balances, our 15-195 Closed Cam 1-1/4" T-Lock Shoe. Let us know if it differs at all.
Thanks for getting back to me, Francis. Ahh, thanks for pointing out the hook at the top, rather than a screw. This is a fairly common alternative design. We can replace this for you so that the Series 795 comes installed with a 15-198 hook instead, but it will have to be a custom order. What I'll do is I'll shortly send you an email with a custom link to order 2 of the S795-28 with a stamp option of 28D and the 15-198 hook attached. Let me know if you have any questions.
As far as your T-Lock Shoe, does your old shoe match the specifications of the 15-195? Is it 1-1/4" wide and have a 'closed' cam you can't see through the back of? If so, then you don't need to buy any extra shoes, since the 15-195 comes automatically installed with our Series 795 balances. You would only need to buy an additional T-Lock shoe if your shoe was a different design: say, if it was only 1" wide like our 15-194, or if it had an open cam like our 15-195B.
As far as your pivot bar goes, as long as it is undamaged, it should work with the new T-Lock Shoe and Channel Balance.

Thanks for getting back to me, Francis. Let me clarify. Your current balances have the 15-198 hook. That's the hook that clips to the hole in your window track. The custom balances we're recommending would have this hook.
I agree, your T-Lock shoe looks more like the 15-194. Let me send you an updated custom link with that shoe attached. As far as your pivot bar goes, I do not believe you'll have any issue.
