replacement parts for vinyl double hung windows

Question

I have six vinyl double hung windows with various pieces of the sash balance system in disrepair. I would like to purchase 8 sets (coil spring and accessories, pivot bar, brake shoe) of better quality since the homeowner appears to be rough on the existing ones. The pivot bar is 2 1/4" long, has a round engagement end with an embossed "I". It mounts from beneath the sash on the bottom side of the meeting rail with two screws. The 1/2" wide coil springs have a "7E" mark and terminates in a curve that fits into the brake shoe. The brake shoe measures 1 1/4" w x 1 1/2" h x 9/16" deep.

Please advise me what to purchase. Thank you very much.

Thanks for writing in! We do not carry an exact replacement for your existing coil balance shoe, but I believe our 15-177 Coil Balance Shoe should work well as a suitable replacement. To confirm, carefully review and compare the dimensions and design below.

This shoe is compatible with the 1/2" Thick Series 152 Coil Balance secured to the shoe using the 33-072 Philips Screw. Since yours is stamped with a 7E, you'll need the S152-7.

The compatible cover assembly used with this coil balance assembly are the 15-143 Coil Bushing, 15-144 Coil Bushing Cap, and the 15-145 Coil Barrel Support; all of which are sold separately.

You pivot bar looks pretty similar in design to our 26-466. Take a look over the dimensions to confirm that this is the replacement you need.
