simonton window balance

A quick learner from kentucky says:
I have two windows that have the same balance damage - the covers are broken and the screw is missing that holds the covers in place. The springs appear to be ok and the shoe does not appear to have any damage. Would like replace with new balance - also need the screws that would attach the balance in place. the shoe is 0.529in thick 1.240 wide and 1.434 tall. We put the window on the scale and was 19lbs . Thanks, Gary

Hello there. This looks like a 15-199 Pivot Shoe, which uses either 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balances or the 3/8" thick Series 165. Please confirm the thickness of your old coil springs, and we'll quickly narrow down what you need.

A quick learner from kentucky says:
The springs are 3/8. I think I can use the current springs, I just need the covers, will 15-205 work?

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Perfect, thanks. 3/8" thick springs mean you have the Series 165, and so yes, the 15-205 Triple Support is what you want. If the old balances appear undamaged there's no need to replace them. You'll need to use a #8 pan head screw to install these new covers (not included). Let me know if you have further questions.
