spring load assembly kit for Hurd Monument VINYL Series Window installed in 1998

Quick Learner
I have been trying to fix a window in my home that was installed in 1998 and is part of the Hurd Monument Vinyl Series. The spring load mechansim that holds the window up broke and the window comes crashing down. Very dangerous. Can you help with parts? I have spoken to my local dealers and hurd with no luck. The tube measurements shown in the last photo diagram measures 27 ".

Thanks for posting. Can you confirm the diameter of your tube? In my experience Hurd tends to use the larger 5/8" diameter tube, not the more narrow 3/8". If it is 5/8" (or 9/16"), I recommend our Series 600 spiral balance. If you confirm that the tube diameter is, indeed, 3/8", then I recommend our Series 900 instead.

Thank you. It measures 5/8" in diameter. We will order the series 600 with the red tip online.

Ok. I took the window apart and it looks like the spiral balances might be fine. The pivot shoe is clearly broken. I attached a couple pictures of a good one and the broken one.

Also, I don't think you sell the same top open entry pivot shoe, so I'm guessing I need to replace it with what you have (15-046) and change out the pivot bar to the 26-040. For some some reason the top sash uses these top entry shoes even though the bottom sash uses the ones you sell. If you can confirm this is the right game plan, I will order the parts along with a charging tool (using needle nose pliers doesn't work too well).

Thanks for your help. You have a tremendous website and great service.

Thanks for the additional pictures. The pivot shoe looks closer to our 15-210. That style of pivot bar with the flare on the end is no longer made, but I think you could use our 26-040.
