window parts for raising and lowering double hung window
There are 2 different windows.
Thank you
Thanks for bearing with us during this busy season. We're happy to look into this, but we'd like to see a photo of the pivot bar. That will help us confirm the best replacement option.
Are you also looking to replace the springs, or do you plan to reuse them?
I do not know what the best course of action is. Can they be reused? I want to do what would be the best and longest lasting. It is for 2 different sizes of windows. It seems I have had quite a few break as I was tilting them to clean them. They are over 15 years old.
Thank you for your time
Lori
Thank you for the additional photos, Lori.
You have two options to consider. The first is to replace the complete setup with the 15-259 shoe and S159 coil balances. You will also need the 26-083 pivot bar, 15-256 double spring support, and the 15-255 single spring support. The video below goes over the replacement process. Feel free to get back to us with the sash weight, and we can calculate the appropriate coil weights if you decide to go this route.
The second option would be to use the 15-192, but there are some caveats. You would have to file down the alignment nibs, and you may also need to reuse the old pivot shoe's cam so it will work with the existing pivot bar. Note that modified parts can't be returned for a refund.
You can reuse your coil springs with this pivot shoe if they're in good shape, but your old coil supports are no longer made, so you must reuse them.
I know neither option is ideal, but they're the best we can offer since your old shoe isn't made anymore.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
