Im hoping you can help me. I recently purchased a house with 8 windows that aren't staying open. After examining the problem, it looks like the counterbalance spring pivot point is broken off the assembly. It look looks like the plastic piece at the the bottom of the counter balances are broke. I'm having a difficult time even getting that part out of the window seal. Do you know what parts I would need to replace these? I will need 16 total. Ive taken photos of one and uploaded. Is there some special tool needed to remove and replace the pivot point mechanism? Also, I'm looking for 2 locks with the screw holes two inches apart. See referenced photos.

I believe you have a ribbed channel balance. We will need for you to provide the width and height of the ribbed channel. Could you also tell us how it attaches to the window at the top?
To remove the black tilt shoe, place your finger at the top and bring it down, grab it and twist it out. We will also need the width of the "T" of the shoe. We believe you can use our 90-237 keeper and our 90-161 window lock. Compare the screw holes of your parts to ours to see if they match up.

Hi Paul. The T of the shoe measures 1" in width ( reference photo ).
The channel inside the window where the counterbalance spring gets secured measures 71" high (entire opening top-to-bottom of window on both left and right sides). I can't get an exact measurement inside this for width; however, it's close to 1" to fit the T of the counterbalance shoe.
The counterbalance spring measures 34" long and is 9/16" wide. It attaches to the top of the window by a metal hook inserting into a mounting hole in the channel ( reference photo ).
The lock and keeper both look correct...thanks.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. We don't need the length of the jamb track or the spring, but the metal channel of the balance itself. Is that 34"?

Yes. The channel itself is 34". See uploaded photo with measuring tape.

Okay great, thank you! I was wrong before: this isn't a ribbed balance like I thought, which will make things a lot easier. It still needs to be specially made, though.
I will use our S795-34 as the base, but replace the bottom shoe with our 15-194 and the top screw clip with our 15-198 hook. Does that look good to you?
I will send you an order link right now for 16, since you mentioned you have 8 windows. If you'd like to change the quantity, let me know right here in this thread and I'd be happy to change it for you.
