For wood window sashes, we normally suggest the 5/8" S500 spiral balances. If yours are 3/8" and you don't have room in the sash for a 5/8" diameter tube, take a look at the smaller S400 balances. For the S400, you would need to use a mounting bracket like the 17-031 under the sash.
