Broken coils

Home Owner from Yarmouth, NS Canada

Will need to replace parts for both sides, both coils snapped. Bathroom window, (32"W x 31"L- single hung). Not sure of coil tension (no markings evident). Thanks for your assistance.

It was very faint so used a magnifier and see the letter "F" stamped on the coil balance. Hope this helps.

Hello,

Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-177 shown below. This shoe is used with the S152 coil springs. The F stamped on your coils may correspond to the S152-6 but I'd recommend confirming the weight of your window sash. The weight divided by the number of coils on each side would correspond to the strength options needed for each spring.

We also offer the 15-143, 15-144, and 15-145 support parts for the coil springs. If these parts match your original hardware, pricing can be found directly on our product pages. Thanks for posting!

I weighed my window sash and the weight is 14.2lbs. You note the "F" stamp is for a 6 lb coil but I think I should order the 7 lb coil. Please confirm. Thanks

I agree that as long as your sash weight is precise, you would need one S152-7 coil on each side.
