Help with ID'ing Window Balances

Home Owner from Myrtle Beach, SC

I need a set of each size but I'm not sure what exactly to order. One has BSI 1640 stamped on it and is 17" long. The other is 28" long. They are both 1/2" wide. I will also need some of the little metal stops that flip in and out when removing the window. I believe they are to keep the balancer from moving to the top of the window frame when removing. I didn't see a part number for those. I can send more picsif needed. My house is closing in a few weeks and this came up on the inspection as needing replacement. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for contacting SWISCO. For the smaller set, take a look at either our S380-17 or S385-17 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two Series is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380 the depth of this nylon shoe is 1", whereas with the Series 385 it is 1-3/32". Compare with your own and see what is best.

Could you confirm what the stamp says on the longer balance set you need to replace? And can you confirm that it is 28"? If so, take a look at either our S380-28 or S385-28. Again, the only difference between these two balances is the nylon shoe depth.

As for the take-out clips, take a look at our 16-002

Both bottom nylon shoes are 1 3/32. One is 17" and the other is not 28 but 29". That is the length of the metal portion of each. I've attached a photo of the numbers on the long balancer. Could be 20 or 28. But the metal part is 29" long. Thanks. As soon as I hear from you I will place my order. Thanks for your help.

Greetings. Based on the photos and information you have provided, it appears you have the Series 390 Channel Balances. Now for the lengths, one looks to be 17", so that would be S390-17 with a spring stamped weight of 1640. The other marked 28 2 should have a metal channel length of 29", so you would need the S390-29 with a stamp option of 2820.
