My double hung window will not stay open on its own. Using your helpful videos, I was able to determine that my coil balance unit was broken (see the plastic at the bottom of the unit).
What parts and pieces do I need to replace the unit on both sides of the window frame? Based on your videos, I think I need to replace the bars in the window as well?

Thanks for reaching out! It appears you have an older, discontinued Simonton assembly. We can no longer supply the replacements for them, so you'll need to use the 15-259 Coil Balance Pivot Shoe to replace them. Your existing pivot part will not be compatible, so you'll also need to purchase the 26-083.
The specifications for these parts can be found on the website.
This shoe uses the Series 159 Coil Balance. You'll need to look for a stamp/marking on the coils to determine the springs needed for the replacement. Please see the tutorial below for instructions on how to select the correct coil weight option. We use a different assembly in the video but the process is the same.
The compatible cover is the 15-256 Coil Double Support.

My pleasure to assist! Since your original assembly uses a double coil set up, I would suggest using a the S159-04 (4.5lbs) and the S159-05 (5.5lbs).
You'll need to attach one S159-04 and one S159-05 to a shoe; both assemblies should be assembled identically. These will support a sash weighing 20lbs.
