Norandex pivot lock shoe

Based on your website photos I believe I have the part name correct. It is 7/8ths wide. I'm hoping you can make sense of the numbers on the product tag. As you can see in my picture ours has suffered a catastrophic failure. RIP ?

Are you able to provide a replacement?

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. Since this is a Simonton window, I recommend the 15-259 shoe and S159 coil balances. The video below will detail the process along with the other parts you'll need.

Let me know if you have any questions!

After watching the video I took off the coil cover to verify the number indicating its strength so I could order the proper replacement. I discovered it is a two coil mechanism top screwed to the bottom coil. The number on the bottom coil looks, to my old eyes, like it is 405. I did not remove the coil, just put it back together and locked the window in place until I can get verification of the proper replacement parts. Thank you for the first response. The video is well done. Is the suggested replacement shoe lock correct? Its picture isn't an identical match to the broken shoe but is it a case of 15-259 being a universal replacement for several models? Seeing the two coils threw me off. I look forward to any added information/help you are able to provide.
Thank you

Hello,

Your original coil balance has been discontinued. We found that the 15-259 pivot shoe can work in place of your original with a full conversion that is shown in the video. You would also need the 26-083 pivot bar.

As for the springs, the "405" should translate to a 5 pound strength. You would need to check the number on the other spring as well. If the other spring has a "405" stamp too, that would indicate together with the other side, that the total spring support can support a 20 pound sash.

For a 20 pound sash, you can use (1) S159-04 and (1) S159-05 coil along with the 15-256 double support.

If you cannot access the other spring at the moment, we will need to know the exact weight of the window sash. The sash would need to be removed and placed on a bathroom scale. From there we can move forward with determining the correct weighted springs to support the window sash. Thank you!
