Replacement Parts

Home Owner
Looking to determine what parts I might need to replace broken pivot shoe and triple window balance in some of our windows. Unable to remove the coil assembly without breaking the cover because they are too brittle.

Hello, thank you for posting,

Your window appears to use the 15-177 pivot shoe, but it is peculiar that the window has 3 springs as this shoe is usually only used with one or two.

It may be better to change the setup to a coil balance like the Series 140 that would require switching out the pivot bar as well. To further review, can you provide the weight of the window sash? The sash will need to be removed and placed on a bathroom scale.

From there we can get a better idea of what to recommend. Thank you!

Thanks for the response. The sash weighs 24 lbs.

Thank you,

I am not sure why the original setup used a triple coil setup. With the window being 24 pounds, you can stick with the 15-177 pivot shoe setup and use a double coil. You can use (2) S152-6 coils on each side of the window sash.

For new supports, see the 15-143 bushing, 15-144 bushing cap and 15-145 support barrel that is used per coil spring.

Your original pivot bar will be compatible. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
