Replacement Pivot Shoe

Quick Learner from Loveland , CO
I returned Pivot Shoe 15-192 because it has extended rails/guides either side, making it not a suitable fit for my 2007 Simonton brand windows.
Please image indicating dimensions of my intact pivot shoe along with image of the ill-fitting pivot shoe.
Please recommend a shoe that fits.
Thank you

Thanks for reaching out to us! I believe a better replacement match for your Simonton shoe would be the 15-259 Coil Balance Pivot Shoe. Take a look over the dimensions below to determine if this will fit in your window channel.

Dimensions for 15-259

This shoe is compatible with the Series 159 Coil Balance. You'll need to look for any stamps/markings on your existing coils to select the springs you need for your assembly. If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of your sash and divide it by the total number of coils in the window; in your case, (4).

You'll likely also need the 15-256 Coil Double Support (for the coils) and the 26-083 Pivot Bar, since your existing pivot bar is very likely to be incompatible with the 15-259 shoe.

Appears I'm having to replace all my coil assemblies, pivot shoes and bars on double hung windows.

My lower sash weighs 21.8 lbs (with double coils). Dividing by 2 (instead of 4) determines 10.9 lbs per coil balance. Will the available (series 159) 10.5 lbs balance coils suffice? Or is there a combination of weights using double coil assemblies that will work effectively?

The same question applies to my upper sash which weighs 20.8 lbs. Appears to me that single coil assemblies with 10.5 lbs balance coils should handle my upper sash.

Thanks

Yes, the S159-10 would work fine, especially since when divided the weight comes out to 10.9lbs and 10.4lbs respectively. You'll need the 15-255 Single Support instead.
