Replacement bracket for casement window
I've included a picture of the bracket.
Is this something you can help with?
Thank you.
It definitely sounds like you need a new operator. We should be able to help, but before I recommend anything I'd like to see the rest of the long arm that connects to the window. If possible, please disconnect it from the window ahead of time so that I can clearly see the end of it, which tends to have important details that we use to ID a match. Thanks!
Hello Tom and thanks for you reply.
I took a look at the window to see what is needed to remove the operator. Looks like I just need to remove 4 screws then pop off the arm from the window (it just has a hole that goes over a post) - see pictures below.
My question before I do this ... if I remove this operator, what will keep the window from falling off?
Second question ... once removed, will it just slide out with?
Just want to be sure I don't create more of a problem. Appreciate your input.
Ursula
You should be able to just pop the operator arm out of that track through that gap you see, yes. The window will stay up as it is supported by the hinges. The operator isn't taking any of the weight at all so it will be fine. You can then just open and close the window by hand.
From these new photos you may very well have a match for our 39-013 and 39-014, which have 13-1/2" long arms. We also sell the 39-028E and 39-027E, which are the same but with 9-1/2" long arms. I'm just not sure if the wheel bearing at the end of the arm is the same, which is a small but important detail. If it is, then all you need to do at this point is measure the arm and pick the pair that better matches.
Many thanks for the help.
Hoping that you carry arms other than the 9 1/2" and 13 1/2".
This is a huge help, thank you! Unfortunately, we do not have 12" arms. Based on your photos I think the 13-1/2" is what you want. Note that we aren't measuring just to the elbow of the arm, we measure all the way to the center of the gear. Refer to the image below to see what I mean.
Yes, it looks like the 13 1/2" arm is what is needed. Hoping that the shape of the housing isn't an issue but ordered the operator to find out. Will order the folding crank when it is in stock again.
Thank you ever so much for sharing your knowledge and helping me to get a replacement on order. Fingers crossed that it all works out.

You're very welcome, Ursula. I'd love to hear how it works out.
Concerning the shape of the base, it should be fine. The manufacturer stopped making the "squared" shaped bases and started making them "rounded," but they are totally interchangeable in my experience and the only difference is in appearance.
The replacement bracket arrived today and fit perfectly. So nice to have my window working again !!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge to help me get the part I needed. It was a pleasure to work with you.
Regards, Ursula
I'm happy to help! We appreciate the update. Thanks again for your business and please let me know if we can be of any help in the future.
