Replacement window coil balancer

Question

I have broken balancers on all my windows.  Window are Simonton installed in 2004.  Window weight is 21 lbs.  pictures are from the right side. When I removed the left side it a total of 3 coils.  If I am able to buy new balancers for each window, will I need to change the pivot bars that are attached on the window?

Thanks for your post! Your Simonton balance shoe reminds me of the 15-199 Pivot Shoe. I'm certain this is the correct replacement but be sure to compare the dimensions. The shoe's thickness is 17/32".

The compatible pivot bar is the 26-378. If yours is still in good, working condition you shouldn't need to replace it.

Your spring support (cover) looks like it could be the 15-205 Egress Coil Triple Support, which is compatible with the 3/8" wide Series 165 Coil Balances. To confirm that this is the series you have, you'll need to confirm the width of the original coils.

Since the sash weighs 21lbs, I suggest using (1) S165-3 3lb Coils and (2) S165-4 4lb Coils. You'll need to use this setup for both assemblies. This will support a total of 22lbs.

Another option is to use (2) 3lb coils and (1) 4lb coil. This setup will support 20lbs.
