I am looking for the balance springs and covers for this Simonton single hung window. Also, the sliding latch that allows the lower sash to tilt.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out! There are a few different coil balance assemblies I have seen used in Simonton windows. That said, I will need to see your existing assembly, removed from the window, to properly identify the correct replacement.

Your window latches can most likely be replaced with our 26-243 and 26-244 window tilt latches. Carefully review and compare the dimensions to confirm that these are the right replacement for your sash.

Please find attached additional photos of the balance spring assembly removed from the window frame. Note, it is broken. Also, one image shows what appears to be a size of the original?

Thanks for the photos! Your coil balance shoe appears to be the 1/2" Thick 15-111 Pivot Shoe. To determine if this is the right replacement, take a look over the dimensions and compare them to your shoe.

This shoe is compatible with either the 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balance or the 3/8" thick Series 165 Coil Balance. To determine which series you have, you'll need to confirm the measurement for the thickness of your coil.

To determine exact which coils you need for your assembly, you'll need to take a look at the stamps on each of the springs. For example, one of your springs is stamped with a #5.0, so this would need to be replaced with either the S160-5 or the S165-5. Again, you'll need to first confirm the series to determine which is the correct replacement.

Thank you for the information regarding the latch, shoe, and springs. Can you provide a part number for the appropriate spring cover?

You'll first need to determine the series needed to complete the assembly, this will determine the exact style you need. Then, you'll need to confirm the exact number of springs needed.

For example, if there are three springs on the assembly, you would need the 15-150T for the Series 160 or the 15-205 for the Series 165.

I hope this helps!
